Introduction: Productivity of manufacturing systems is one of the important components in manufacturing organizations. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between managers' independence and control of strategy with the productivity of manufacturing systems by mediating organizational policies in Urmia manufacturing organizations.
Methods: In this descriptive-correlational study, the statistical population consisted of 150 employees of manufacturing organizations. Regarding the total number of statistical population and according to the Morgan table, 108 participants were selected as the minimum statistical sample selected by simple random sampling. The data collection instruments include the “Steven & Brent Organizational Policies Questionnaire”, “Hensey Strategy Control Inventory “and" Weinrauch et al’s Productivity Questionnaire”. Validity and reliability of all three instruments were confirmed using content validity index and Cronbach's Alpha. Data analysis was done with SPSS. 25, Laser Light 8 and Smart Plus 2.
Results: Between organizational policies and productivity of manufacturing systems with a correlation coefficient of 0.719, there was a significant difference between managers' independence and organizational policies with a correlation coefficient of 0.262 and between strategy control and organizational policies with a correlation coefficient of 0.557 at a significant level. On the other hand, the coefficient of determination for the productivity of manufacturing systems is equal to 51.07. Therefore, the variable of direct organizational policies, control of strategies and independence of managers through the intermediary variable (organizational policies) have been able to explain 51.7% of the changes in the productivity of manufacturing systems.
Conclusions: Organizational policies have a direct correlation with the productivity of manufacturing systems, strategy control, and the independence of managers. Therefore, it is recommended that authorities consider the effectiveness of policies for the effective control of strategies and the independence of managers in order to promote the productivity of manufacturing systems.
