Introduction: The responsibility of Maried students and their marital satisfaction are affected by various factors. The current study aimed at determining the correlation of self-differentiation and optimism with marital satisfaction and responsibility in nursing students of the Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz, Ahvaz, Iran.
Methods: The current descriptive, correlational study was conducted on 158 married nursing students at Ahvaz Islamic Azad University selected by simple random sampling method from the target population. Data were collected by the differentiation of self inventory developed by Skowron and Friedlander, responsibility multidimensional questionnaire based on Islamic texts, attributional style questionnaire, and marital satisfaction questionnaire. Reliability and validity of these questionnaires were confirmed in previous studies. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 22.
Results: There was a canonical correlation (0.71) between predictor variables and criteria variables. Also, from the predicting variables, self-differentiation and from the criterion variables, responsibility had the largest share in predicting the variables.
