Introduction: For many faculty members, the emphasis on entrepreneurship may be in conflict with the main mission of the university, which is the production and transfer of knowledge. The current research was conducted with the aim of developing a model of the career calling of faculty members of Islamic Azad Universities of Isfahan with an entrepreneurial approach.
Methods: The current qualitative research was conducted using the Grounded Theory. The research community included faculty members of Islamic Azad Universities of Isfahan in 2023-2024. The number of samples was 15 people using the principle of theoretical saturation, which were selected using the snowball method. The research data was collected by semi-structured interview. To measure the validity of the findings, four criteria of credibility, generalizability, reliability and verifiability were used, and to measure the reliability of the interviews, the Holstein test was used. Data analysis was performed with three open, axial and selective coding methods.
Results: 6 selective codes were identified as components (causal conditions, context, phenomena, intervening conditions, strategies and consequences) and 21 central codes and 128 open codes.
Conclusions: The final model shows that out of 5 selective codes and 21 core codes, it can provide the career calling of the faculty members with an entrepreneurial approach. It is suggested that universities, taking into account the designed model, provide a suitable platform for expanding the entrepreneurship of faculty members in universities
