Introduction: Corporate universities play a key role in increasing job skills and promoting the professional competence of healthcare staff and managers. The present study aimed to identify the components of corporate universities in order to provide a model for Iranian universities of medical sciences.
Methods: The present study was qualitative and conducted using the grounded theory method. The sampling method was purposeful and snowball method with the theoretical saturation criterion of data. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 experts and senior scholars in the medical education system of the country. To assess the validity of the findings, four criteria were used: credibility, generalizability, reliability, and confirmability. In the present study, it was not necessary to determine the reliability of the qualitative phase because the researcher personally implemented and coded the interviews. Data analysis was performed using MAXQDA software.
Results: The proposed model was identified in the form of 6 selected codes under the headings of causal conditions, context, phenomenon, intervening conditions, strategies, and consequences, with 44 axial codes and 68 open codes.
Conclusion: The final model indicates that causal conditions include 10 core codes, context 7 core codes, phenomenon 1 core code, intervention conditions 10 core codes, strategies 11 core codes, and consequences 5 core codes. It is suggested that the results of the presented model be used in the development and empowerment of human resources.
