Comparison of Insecure Attachment Style and Internet Addiction Among Young Couples with and without Marital Satisfaction

Introduction: Insecure attachment styles and internet addiction are related to marital satisfaction and threaten marital relationships. The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing insecure attachment styles and in-ternet addiction among young couples with and without marital satisfaction in Estehban city in Fars province.
Methods: The present research method is descriptive-comparative. The sta-tistical population of the research included all young couples living in Es-tehban city in Fars province (Iran) in 2024, of which 160 people (83 women and 77 men) were selected as samples using the convenience sampling meth-od and in 2 groups with marital consent (76 people). and were divided with-out marital consent (84 people). The measurement instruments included a demographic questionnaire, "Attachment Style Questionnaire”, “Internet Ad-diction Test" and "Enrich Marital Satisfaction Scale". Validity of instruments in studies the previous one has been confirmed and reliability was measured by internal consistency method by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS. 23.
Results: There was a significant difference between the mean of insecure at-tachment style and internet addiction in the two groups with and without marital satisfaction (P <0.001); so that the avoidant attachment style (P=0.001), anxious attachment style (P=0.001), and internet addiction (P=0.001) were significantly higher in young couples in the group without marital satisfaction than in the group with marital satisfaction.
Conclusions: Young couples with insecure attachment style and internet ad-diction are more likely to face marital relationship problems. It is suggested to hold counseling classes and how to use the internet correctly to improve marital relations.
