Correlation of Self-Efficacy and Boredom and with Organizational Commitment in Faculty Members of Islamic Azad University, Zanjan Branch

Introduction: In today’s challenging age, factors such as self-efficacy, boredom, and organizational commitment to the workplace play important roles. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation self-efficacy and boredom with organizational commitment in faculty members of Islamic Azad University, Zanjan Branch.
Methods: In this descriptive correlational study, the statistical population included all faculty members of Zanjan Azad University who were teaching in Zanjan Azad University in the academic year. The sample size was 157, according to Morgan's table. Samples were randomly selected from each faculty according to the number of faculty members. The "General Self-Efficacy Scale collected data," “Boredom Proneness Scale,” and “Allen & Meyer's Organizational Commitment Questionnaire," Content validity and reliability were measured by Cronbach's alpha in the present study. Data were analyzed using SPSS.22.
Results: There was a positive and significant correlation between organizational commitment with Boredom and self-efficacy (r = 0.37 and P < 0.001, r = 0.20 and P = 0.010, respectively).
Conclusions: There is a correlation between organizational commitment with Boredom and self-efficacy. Therefore, planning to increase self-efficacy to increase organizational engagement and reduce boredom in university teachers is suggested.
