Introduction: Social participation of women which cover, half of the population has a significant role in society. Women’s social participation can affect their quality of life in different aspects, hence the aim of this study was to determine correlation between social participation of women and their quality of life in Kerman.
Materials and Methods: In this descriptive-correlational study, 300 women between 18 and 73 years old from 12 suburbs of Kerman were chosen by cluster sampling method. To collect the data, "Social Participation Factor's Women "and "The World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL)–BREF Questionnaire" with confirmed validity and reliability were used. Data was analyzed using SPSS/20.
Findings: Social participation was appropriate in 18%, moderate in 81% and inappropriate in 3% of women. Also quality of life was appropriate in 44%, moderate in 54% and inappropriate in 1.7% of women. There is a significant and direct correlation between social participation and quality of life (r=0.21, p<0.001).
Conclusion: Women’s social participation affects their quality of life. It is recommended that, women should more participate socially, especially at time of old age, low income, and more children.
