The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of "Dialectical Behavior Therapy" on controlling emotions and sexual function in women with marital conflict. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with control group. The study population of women with marital conflict referred to mental health centers in Rasht in 2020. For the study, 36 people were selected and randomly divided into two groups of intervention and control. Finally, the intervention group was reduced to 15 people who were randomly removed to analyze 3 members of the control group to homogenize the groups. In this study, demographic questionnaire, "Affective Control Scale (ACS)" and "Female Sexual Function Index" (FSFI) were used to collect data. Validity was sufficient for previous studies and the reliability of the instruments was confirmed by internal consistency method by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient. At the beginning of the intervention, research instruments were completed by the groups. The intervention group underwent "polemical behavior therapy" for 10 sessions of 90 minutes (2 sessions per week) and the control group was on the waiting list for training. Then both groups completed the instruments again after the intervention. Data analysis was performed in SPSS.19. Results: There is a significant difference between the groups in both variables of emotion control (F = 546.366, P = 0.001) and sexual function (F = 84.375, P = 0.001) and according to the effect size values. 95% of changes in emotion control and 75% of changes in sexual function are due to "polarized behavior therapy" intervention (P <0.001). Conclusions: "Dialectical Behavior Therapy" has reduced affective control and increased sexual function in women in marital conflict. Therefore, planning for the use of "Dialectical Behavior Therapy" by psychologists and family counselors to improve the psychological and sexual functioning of women involved in marital conflict is suggested.
